COVID-19 is a new illness that can affect your lungs and airways. It's caused by a virus called coronavirus.
Stay at home if you have coronavirus symptoms
Stay at home if you have either:
- a high temperature – this means you feel hot to touch on your chest or back (you do not need to measure your temperature)
- a new, continuous cough – this means coughing a lot for more than an hour, or 3 or more coughing episodes in 24 hours (if you usually have a cough, it may be worse than usual)
Do not go to a GP surgery, pharmacy or hospital.

Online booking Suspended
Following advice form NHS England in regard to the Coronavirus outbreak the Practice has suspended the booking of appointments via the NHS App, please accept our apologises for any inconvenience this may cause and bear with our staff when ringing through as they will be handling an increased number of calls. We will review this against NHS England advice on a regular basis.
Coronavirus- Childhood Vaccinations
Please note that we are still carrying out all routine childhood vaccinations at the surgery as per the government guidelines.
These should not be postponed due to the coronavirus pandemic.
Please be assured we are taking every safety measure possible to protect your family and our staff from the virus during this procedure.

Coronavirus + contraception
Please attend the surgery for your DEPO contraceptive injection as normal.
Pill users- we can supply your usual prescription electronically to a pharmacy of your choice for you to collect.
Coil/ Implant users- If these are due to be changed, please call for advice.
Emergency contraception ‘morning after pill’- please contacts us as soon as possible for advice or speaks to a pharmacist.
Contraceptive queries- please telephone with your query and a GP/ Nurse will call you back to discuss your needs.

Coronavirus + Cervical screening ( smear tests)
If you had a previously abnormal test and were referred to colposcopy for treatment / assessment and are now due a follow up cervical screening (smear test), don’t delay, please make an appointment for this with a Practice Nurse.
Please be assured we are taking every safety measure possible to protect you and our staff from the virus during this procedure.
Normal, routine cervical screening tests are not being carried out during the pandemic as per government guidelines.
If you experience any unusual/ abnormal/ post-menopausal bleeding or bleeding after sexual activity, please telephone to discuss this with a GP.

Try the new NHS App
If you’re a patient at our practice you can now use the new NHS App, a simple and secure way to access a range of NHS services on your smartphone or tablet.
You can use the NHS App to check your symptoms and get instant advice, book appointments, order repeat prescriptions, view your GP medical record and more.
If you already use Online acces you can continue to use it until the end of September as we will be switching it off. You can use the NHS App along side the present system until then. You use the same account details we gave you when you first signed up for online access, if you don't have these please pop in and ask for a re-print or at the beginning of August we will be emailing them out.

We are pleased to announce that extra evening appointments are now available on our late evenings Mon and Thurs with our nursing team.
Manor Surgery now rated OUTSTANDING by CQC
The Surgery was inspected by the CQC on the 27th November and we have just been notified that they have awarded us an OUTSTANDING rating.
We have been assessed as outstanding in four out of the five categories and achieved outstanding in all six population groups.

NHS Diabetes Prevention Programme
The Manor Surgery has received National recognition being named Winners of the Healthier You: NHS DPP Practice Champions Awards for April and May 2017, we generated the highest number of referrals to the scheme in that period. Accessing your medical records online
From 31st March 2016 patients will be able to access detailed information in their medical records on line if they wish in the same way that you are able to order repeat medication or book a GP appointment.
If you wish to access any online services, please speak to a receptionist who will ask you to complete a form giving the practice authority to set this up. You will need to provide two items of identification. If you are already registered to book appointments and order repeat medication you will still need to complete a consent form for this new service.
Named accountable GP
By 31st March 2016 all patients (including children) will have been allocated a 'named accountable GP' who will be responsible for their overall care at the practice. Those patients who are aged 75 years or over or who have been identified at risk of hospital admission will already have a named GP and be aware of this.
You do not have to see your named GP, you can continue to book appointments for whichever GP you wish. Please ask our reception team if you would like to know who your named GP is. All new patients will be allocated a named GP when they register. If you wish to change your named GP please inform us and we will do our very best to accommodate your request, although this cannot be guaranteed due to the workload of our GPs.
