Why exercise?
It has been proven to reduce the risk of major illnesses, like heart diseases, strokes, diabetes and cancer. It’s recommended that adults try and be active every day and aim to do at least 150 minutes of physical activity over a week.
Exercise can help people of all ages feel healthier and happier.

The Health and Wellbeing Service aims to help patients in the Nottingham West Primary Care Network take more of an active role in their own health care through structured Health Coaching consultations. There is a focus on changing detrimental lifestyle behaviours with the intent of reducing health risks, improving self-management and symptoms of chronic conditions. The Health and Well-beingĀ coach can guide and support patients to set realistic and achievable health related goals to improve quality of life and overall health and wellbeing. If you are interested in seeing a Health and Wellbeing coach, please contact the surgery.
Children: resources to help
L Leisure has introduced a junior exercise referral scheme. This scheme for young people will act as a preventative measure for long-term health conditions and instil physical activity as a positive tool for a healthy adulthood into their lifestyles. The junior exercise referral scheme is able to support young people aged 11-15 years old. This scheme will enable the young people to receive support from our Active Lifestyles Team to improve their health and wellbeing through guided gym sessions, with access to swimming and some classes.
